CEHCHV is working to help families locally obtain healthy, nutritious food and make the right nutritional choices for their children.
Helping families achieve access to healthy, nutritious food is a fundamental goal for the CEHCHV program. Deciphering nutritional labels and making healthy choices for your growing children does not need to be done alone. We are here to help make healthy food choices, and access healthy food, for caretakers of children in the Hudson Valley. Our nutritional expertise spans every life stage from caring for your newborn infant through the entirety of childhood and adolescence.
We know that inadequate access to food is a critical child health issue that impacts children and families in all communities. Food insecurity, or limited ability to access food, places children at risk for malnutrition, obesity, inappropriate feeding practices, poor growth, behavioral issues and developmental delays. The CEHCHV Food Access Team consists of specialists to help families in our region. The clinical team consists of a community partners, physicians and esteemed members of the clinical faculty including, our dietitians — Diane Lindsay Adler and Wendy Rosset — and social workers — Addison Forgit and Caitlin Lennon. Members of our care team can provide comprehensive counseling and community referrals for patients identified with difficulty accessing to food. In addition to consultative services, our website will also provide you with nutrition resources where you can find recipes and environmental nutrition resources.
